Introduction
SPD surge protector is a new type of lightning protection product composed of surge protector and electronic circuit, which is mainly used to protect electronic equipment from lightning and lightning strike. The working principle of SPD surge protector is to limit the lightning current through SPD to a certain range through the voltage limiting tube and diode in SPD.
Features of SPD surge protectors:
1、 Limiting lightning stroke current (also referred to as lightning discharge current);
2、 Limiting lightning pulse voltage (i.e. discharge voltage);
3、 Electromagnetic Pulse (EMI) with Restricted Lightning Stroke;
4、 Limiting the energy generated from lightning stroke;
5、 Protecting the object from damage caused by direct lightning strike or electromagnetic interference;
6、 Limiting the over-voltage induced on the circuit (lightning induction voltage or over-voltage induced).
Scope of Application
SPD surge protector protects electrical equipment from lightning overvoltage and other sudden overvoltage and overcurrent in power system. It can protect electrical equipment from overvoltage and ensure personal safety.
SPD Surge Protectors apply to the following locations:
(1) The power supply inlet of high-rise buildings; (2) The inlet of communication optical cables and signal cables in power supply lines; (3) The inlet of distribution boxes and cabinets; (4) The inlet of cable cores and overhead wires; (5) The power supply inlet of computer systems; and (6) The inlet of switching equipment in buildings shall be equipped with SPD surge protectors if the switching equipment is powered by AC power supply, while the inlet of AC power supply shall be equipped with SPD surge protectors.
Performance index
1、 When the SPD arrester is in normal operation, there shall be no bad contact, over voltage or under voltage.
2、 When the SPD surge arrester is in normal operation, no large impulse current passes through the surge arrester.
3、 The current capacity of the SPD arrester shall not be less than 1.2 times of the rated current capacity of the protected equipment, and shall not be less than 1000A (or the rated voltage shall not be less than 10/350V); if the current capacity of the protected equipment is more than 10/350V, please contact us to select the appropriate current capacity within the safe and effective range.
